I’ve got some exciting news! I will be attending SWFL SpaceCon 2022 on June 11th—not as a visitor or volunteer, but as a publishing and gaming industry professional. I’ll have a table and… stuff on the table… and yeah! I’m excited. Are you excited?
Come Say Hi at SWFL SpaceCon 2022!
I’ve been a regular con-goer for years, ever since my first MizuCon in Miami. I love cosplay, I love the panels, and I love the community. I’ve even volunteered a few times before as an event photographer and as a table assistant.
SWFL SpaceCon 2022, however, will be my first experience of a con from the pro’s point of view. So I’m planning to keep it low-key and see how it goes. I won’t be hosting any panels, and I won’t have any official autograph sessions (though if you happen to want one, feel free to ask!). I’ll just be chilling at my table, ready to chat or answer any questions you might have about me or my work.
So yeah! Stop by anytime during the day to say hi. I promise I won’t bite. 🙂
How to Find Me at the Con
Wherever the other authors and artists are, I’ll likely be there! Specific table locations haven’t been released yet, so check the official website closer to the event date, and be sure to double-check the program on the day of. I’ll be sitting at one of the tables behind some signs and living my best author life.
If you’re not sure if you’ll recognize me—that’s me in the photo up top! I’ve been known to dress up pretty elaborately in the past, to the point where even longtime friends didn’t recognize me right away, but this time the current plan is to do something a little more relaxed. Since I’m planning to be at the con all day, I’ll likely just be in a generally fantasy-themed getup, to match my overall brand and the genre I typically write in. But if at first you don’t find me, don’t give up! I’ll do my best to make sure my table is clearly labeled with my name.
And if nothing else, check my social media on the day of—I’ll likely be posting live from the con, including a selfie or two, throughout the day.
What Kind of Stuff Will I Bring to the Convention?
I don’t have any merch to speak of, so I don’t plan to sell any at the con, either. However, that doesn’t mean I’ll be showing up to SWFL SpaceCon 2022 empty-handed!
I’ll have QR codes for all of my projects to make it nice and easy to find them, try them, and (if you really like ‘em), buy them! I’ll have a signup sheet for anyone not already on the mailing list. I’m also going to try and have some freebies to hand out, because who doesn’t like free stuff?
Mainly though, I’m not going to the con to sell things. I’m going to hang out and meet fellow writers, readers, and gamers with similar interests. If I sell some stuff, great! If I don’t, that’s okay too! Just meeting some cool folks and maybe expanding my creative support network will be more than enough to make my time at the con worthwhile. I hope to see you there!
